After working for 10 years in the U.K as a trader and as a management consultant, he moved to Uganda with a dream of supporting the community and building a vocational college that supports young adults who will in turn support the community as well.
The project started with two sewing machines inside the house of a friend and has now grown over the years from renting a building that had no doors or windows, for classes and later to acquiring land and construction of a four classroom block, a store, a BCP workshop, four stance latrines and other external works. Auro now fully owns the structures dramatically improving the quality of education that we can provide to our students. 70% our students were engaged during the construction effort – providing them meaningful experience and also creating a strong local community bond with its efforts to support development.
